I often get lots of junk email with these offers in them of the free laptops. Unfortunately they fail to tell you that there may be some hidden cost involved when you come to pick up your so called free laptop. That is if you do indeed get to pick one up.
The cost may not be as much as the buying of a new laptop but when you take into consideration the amount that they try to charge you for the handling and shipping charges then it could still be quite an expensive item which in retrospect is not entirely free.
Most of the online companies that do offer these free laptops are generally scam companies that are just trying to get you to commit to something for their own benefit. But that does not mean that they are all scams, just beware and check out all the details thoroughly before committing to anything.
The main reason these companies use the ruse of the laptop is so that they can get more traffic to their website thus promoting their goods freely.
Many newcomers to the World Wide Web will click on the website offer in full expectations of receiving a free laptop once they get there. But this will never happen as the cost alone to do something like that would be astronomical.
You may well get companies that run contest on a regular weekly or monthly basis and offer a free laptop to the lucky member that wins. For these offers you will need to be a full member of these sites with log in name and passwords.
High school students at certain well known schools in the United States are offered free laptops to assist them with their studies or so they can use them from their residences.
