In February of this year, US Congresswoman Rep. Jackie Speier introduced a package of Bills to Congress that includes an online “do not track” policy for companies that collect personal information. The proposed law has caused considerable stir amongst the online advertising world as it braces itself for the possible effects it might take on targeted advertising. The suggested Do Not Track legislation works on the premise of making internet usage more private. The principle initiative of the legislation is that web users can opt-out of being tracked which would in turn lead to a small portion of code called a “header” being inserted into a Web server that tells a Web site that the user does not wish to be tracked.

The main concern is that with the legislation in place, so few users will actively opt-in to being tracked that advertising networks will cease to invest in the infrastructure necessary to create target-based advertisements. Meta tags should have a title tag which has your most important keywords and contains no more than 60 characters. This is the number of characters that can be shown on Google search results. Your description tag which is also displayed in search results after a user does a search engine query, should be no more than 150 characters. This tag is most effective when mentioning your keywords two times.

Another meta tag is your keyword tag. The keywords tag should include your most important keywords. I choose to keep my list concise, usually around 12 keywords. This shows Google and other search engines that your web page is both focused and relevant. Sites that engage in keyword stuffing are only hurting themselves. As mentioned earlier, start with keyword research to determine which keywords get the most search engine traffic and use them.

Once you have your meta tags within your web page code it is important to focus on the next on page optimization factor. The load time of your web pages matter a great deal to Google and other search engines. Not only does your web page need to be formatted correctly but it needs to load quickly. Fast loading web sites mean a better user experience. Search engines like Google reward you for providing the right information quickly to web site browsers. Try to keep load times to a minimum and continually work to improve the speed at which your site loads.

The final factor related to on page optimization we are discussing today is the web site URL. The best format is to have your keyword in root of the domain. For example, it may look something like www.keyword.com. Truthfully the days of picking up a domain like this are pretty much over but you can find some options on expired domain listings. A Look At Google Terminator

Hey there and welcome. In this post I just wanted to talk about a new product that’s caught my eye called google terminator.

Google terminator is being released next week by someone called Chris Fox.

So the reason that Google Terminator has caught my eye is that it’s all about promoting affiliate products with free traffic.

SEO and free traffic is the main way I make money online and although I haven’t looked through the whole Google terminator course I have seen a part of it.

I can tell you now that the stuff Chris talks about does work.

You’ll probably see when the sales page is released that he made around 4k from the commission blueprint 2 product launch which is pretty impressive.

From the little I’ve seen on Google terminator so far it seems to be about ranking for product launches but the bad thing about that is that there’s so many people doing it these days that it’s become overly competitive and harder for newbies to make any money.

But the truth is that Chris was number 1 for one of the biggest launches this year, the commission blueprint 2 launch so he obviously has something good to teach.

One thing that lets it down a little for me is that it sounds too hypey. Google terminator sounds like just another product launch leeching off the Google brand.

In all honesty I hope people can look around the hype and the whole ‘Google’ thing in the name because the content from what I’ve seen really is pretty good. And although it teaches you about ranking for product launches the real power is ranking for keywords that get searched all year round.

So from the little I’ve seen of Google Terminator I think there’s alot of good info to learn.

Do You Know How the Google Search Engine Really Works?

While we don’t often think about – or even care – how the Google search engine works, it is essential for web publisher who is using search engine optimization, or natural search marketing for their online business to understand the basic principles that drive Google.

In simple terms, there are three main parts to Google: Googlebot, The Indexer, and the Query Processor. Understanding how each of these three parts works is very important to online businesses, believe it or not. Let’s take a look at each of the Google elements to see how they work.

Googlebot is the search engine spider that comes to your website and spiders your pages. It isn’t an actual spider, of course.

It actually works more like a web browser by calling a server, requesting pages, and downloading them – just as you do when you open your web browser, type in an web address, and the page loads.

Googlebot, however, is run by numerous computers and performs this task much faster than one user could on their home or work computer. Googlebot also doesn’t know that a website exists until a URL is put into their Add URL form, or until they find a link to that website on another web page.

When Googlebot comes to a page, they take all the links from that page, and put them in a queue for crawling, and repeat this process over and over again. Once Googlebot has found a link, and downloaded the page, it hands that page off to the Indexer.

The Indexer stores the pages in Google’s Index Data base. The Index then sorts all of the pages in its data base, alphabetically, by looking at all of the keywords on the pages. The Indexer does not pay any attention to what Google calls stop words, such as is, on, or, why, how, etc. It just pays attention to more important keyword type words.

The Indexer, after Indexing pages, waits for the Google Query Processor to ask it for a list of documents. A keyword is given to the Query Processor, which in turn asks the Indexer for a list of stored websites contain that keyphrase.

The Indexer then supplies the Query processor with a list of the documents, and the Query processor presents that to the user that requested the keyphrase.

As you can see, each element is important to the others. It all starts with the Googlebot finding your webpage link on another page, or by you going to Google and using the Add form to list your website.
