How To Protect Your Identity When Browsing Online

September 26th, 2010

When the Internet was first introduced into the mainstream population, people could go online and surf anonymously without much worry. That is no longer the case these days as information is captured and stolen online on a regular basis. That does not have to be the case always however, thanks to anonymous surfing technology.

Surfing the Net anonymously means that your private information stays private. Individuals and companies that use cookies and other tracking methods to harvest your personal information can use it for either malicious activities in the case of the individual or sell your personal data and habits to other companies to try to sell you products and services. When you use anonymous surfing you are putting a stop to these practices being used.

Proxy servers have come on the scene to ensure our privacy on the web. What they do is block your IP address from those who would use it against you and use their own server’s address in place of it. This little technique has worked wonders in keeping one’s information private and allowing them to surf the Web in peace.

You can utilize the services of these proxy server businesses online to maintain your privacy from phishing attacks and the like. There are numerous companies online that offer this service for anonymous browsing. You can also use certain browsers that offer private surfing but they do not work the same as the proxy companies and are less reliable.

Other methods you can use to ensure a private browsing session is to go into the control center of your computer and delete your browsing history, your cookies and your cache of any information stored in them. This way each time you surf the web you do so anonymously without compromising your private data.

Surfing the Web anonymously is a growing concern and can prevent tracking and attacking techniques used by those who want your private information. When someone tracks you on the Internet they are using your IP address to log certain activities that you perform online.

Attacking is more of a hacker activity that attempts to access your computer files and extract personal information from them. There are areas in the country that offer restrictive policies that allow their customers to surf privately.

You may have your reasons for wanting to maintain your privacy and that should be respected, using the above methods can help to ensure that what you do on the Internet and your information are not compromised.

July 30th, 2010

It is not just enough to see your selected keyword being listed higher and registering traffic, but the appearance and behavior of your site also matters if it is to be coded as a successful website. These are a very important part of achieving a successful site.

Lots of research has gone into trying to find out the best method of turning visitors into permanent customers. It is only a website that can attract frequent customers that stands the chance of facilitating online trade.

These are a few factors to help you make a successful website:

You should endeavor to get a qualified person to produce the website; since persuading a relative who understands a bit of HTML to help can give you results that are bound to lack the important touches that are needed for a professional look.

The qualified web designers have the knack of making the site look attractive and able to pull people because this is needed for it to pull customers. They have the knowledge of what items to be displayed where for it to look beautiful. What is needed when trying to start a web business is to entrust the work to only those who are experienced in this line.

Also be sure to get the best host. Imagine spending all your time and money trying to build a successful website and then as soon as the work starts and there is light down the tunnel, you suddenly discovered that the host cannot be relied on.

The only host you should rely on is the one that commands 99.9% downtime. Do not be tempted to pick just any company. Go for the best and here you will find that the best names in the market are like Hostgator, MediaTemple, Dreamhost, and so on.

A contact form and privacy plan will help a great deal if you have one. In fact the contact form is a compulsory thing to have. In most cases, it will help your clients to reach you, so it is good to include your email address or drawing up a simple form.

It is the same case to a privacy plan. Do out a good privacy policy which will enable people to know of any useful information available. This will make them feel comfortable with you and forestall any future problems.

Top Rankings Are Possible With Well Optimized Web Pages

November 23rd, 2009

Starting any search engine optimization campaign with anything other than keyword research is a waste of time. To be truly successful with SEO you must begin with a well researched keyword strategy. Once you’ve identified the most important keywords for your campaign, the next step is to optimize web pages for top rankings. I have found a number of techniques that work especially well for on page optimization.

There are a number of areas to focus on when thinking about on page optimization. The most important factors include meta tags, load speed, and URLs. Although some of these may seem obvious to those of you who have spent just a little time learning about SEO, individuals often address these important areas incorrectly.

Meta tags are important because they provide some basic information to search engine spiders. Meta tags need to be formatted correctly to enhance search engine rankings. My research as shows that meta tags by themselves cannot radically improve rankings. It is my belief that meta tags may be used to verify other aspects of your website and are important for getting users to click through from search engine results.

Meta tags should have a title tag which has your most important keywords and contains no more than 60 characters. This is the number of characters that can be shown on Google search results. Your description tag which is also displayed in search results after a user does a search engine query, should be no more than 150 characters. This tag is most effective when mentioning your keywords two times.

Another meta tag is your keyword tag. The keywords tag should include your most important keywords. I choose to keep my list concise, usually around 12 keywords. This shows Google and other search engines that your web page is both focused and relevant. Sites that engage in keyword stuffing are only hurting themselves. As mentioned earlier, start with keyword research to determine which keywords get the most search engine traffic and use them.

Once you have your meta tags within your web page code it is important to focus on the next on page optimization factor. The load time of your web pages matter a great deal to Google and other search engines. Not only does your web page need to be formatted correctly but it needs to load quickly. Fast loading web sites mean a better user experience. Search engines like Google reward you for providing the right information quickly to web site browsers. Try to keep load times to a minimum and continually work to improve the speed at which your site loads.

The final factor related to on page optimization we are discussing today is the web site URL. The best format is to have your keyword in root of the domain. For example, it may look something like www.keyword.com. Truthfully the days of picking up a domain like this are pretty much over but you can find some options on expired domain listings. You can also add your keyword next to the root URL by creating a separate page or folder on your main directory. The other strategy you can consider is a subdomain strategy where you would place your keyword before your domain. Most hosts offer this option.

When thinking about search engine optimization and embarking on your first optimization campaign, start with on page optimization. Focus your efforts on developing a web site that is easily searched and ranked with the help of the on page optimization factors we discussed. The topics we discussed including Meta tags, website load times and URL are among the most important on page optimization factors you can apply to improve your rankings.

Some Extra Benefits of SEO

November 22nd, 2009

Many times a client only looks at the bottom line when it comes to the performance they are getting for their investment into Search Engine Optimization.

They just look at the keyword phrases they’re paying for, but they don’t see that there are other effects at play.

As a site becomes more optimized, it is being turned into a well devised navigational pattern. This pattern is precisely what the search engine spiders look for. Keep in mind that if your site is easy to index, you’ll get a better ranking in the search engine results.

While W3C validation is something all sites should strive for, it is not required for better rankings. Does it help? Probably. Yahoo engineers have stated that whether a site is W3C compliant or not makes no difference to how it ranks. If it has relevant content, it will get ranked.

Another element when optimizing a site is that through proper naming of page titles, file names and placement of content make the site all the more relevant to the spider. Although Google places less value on Meta Tags, they are still used as part of the algorithm, and should not be overlooked.

Once the site has been coded the right way, it is time to use Search Engine marketing. This is used to raise traffic, and there are many different methods. There could be articles, press releases, blogs, feeds, and many other things. It’s amazing what can be used to direct traffic to a website.

There are now other benefits stemming from Search Engine Marketing which will start to show up. For instance if you’ve been doing press releases where you spoke about a new color of widget for some time, and you list the colors that you have for sale, you have created what is known as an In-Bound Link which will go to your site for Red Widget, however having mentioned the other colors, they will gain their own IBL’s.

An even greater demonstration of a collateral benefit is ranking for keywords and phrases that you aren’t targeting. Keeping to our widget example, if your site copy talks about the different uses of widgets, the available colors that they come in and the best way to preserve your widget, you’ve just created a multitude of various phrases that your site can get ranked on.

So you’ve now seen a bit of what your website can do when it is properly optimized. Done properly, each page will have a rank, and that rank will drive more traffic to your website.

Though it might seem rather insignificant, your contact page also needs to be well optimized. If you have a physical business, the search engines will be able to geo target your site so long as your street address is listed. This isn’t something that is being widely done as of yet, but it will be a major factor in the future.

When you check Google to see where your site ranks, remember all of the hidden keywords that you may have included. It’s amazing how often these will bring you right to the top of the search engine rankings. Right were you belong!

Increase Article Marketing Success By Writing Articles Faster

November 19th, 2009

Readers who have attended institutions of higher learning may doubt the title. Article writing is said not to be an speedy process. College told us, it is not possible to develop articles in under an hour. The time tested writing process is to develop an initial bum marketing article, revise the first article, and finally develop a final bum marketing article. Some academic authors would advise aspiring writers that even a three step article writing process may not be sufficient. Established bum marketers have proved that these procedures will not equate to the online article marketing well.

Successful bum marketing may be done with high school level English. University English instruction are meant to produce traditional publishers. Post secondary English courses provide, at least the ones I took, do not focuse on grammar or punctuation. Post secondary English teachers believe students should have learned introductory skills in high school. The majority of your readers do not care about scholarly content. internet visitors are desiring specific knowledge or general knowledge pertaining to the subject. They just want the content; they do not care if it is written in APA format.

“Top of the head” article production is the bum marketer’s friend. “Top of the head” article writing is regularly referred to as brainstorming; however, there are crucial differences. Brainstorming is done by choosing a subject, taking a prescribed amount of time (i.e. five minutes), and recording all items that comes to mind. Brainstorming may be highly effective in producing a list of sub-topics. Creating bum marketing articles requires creating an article. “Top of the head” writing entails taking a prescribed amount of time (i.e. ten minutes) and just writing. Unlike brainstorming, “top of the head” article writing will create an article.

Increasing your knowledge will help you to write bum marketing articles quickly. In its simplest form, writing bum marketing articles is sharing knowledge with readers who desire to increase their experience level. If you cultivate a large amount of experience, pertaining to a topic, you will be cultivate the ability to quickly write on the topic. For example, get a picture, in your mind, of your favorite pet, car, or hobby. Do you have one in your mind? Could you develop four paragraphs about your pet? You probably could produce much more. This is due to you having spent years learning about your pet. You probably did not even realize you were gaining experience.

Many times, we believe we are too busy to learn. However, every day, every person is gaining knowledge. We learn from our family, co-workers, acquaintances, even the TV. Consider how many hours of TV the average family watches in a week. The average American family spends more than three hours per day watching TV. What if you were to dedicate half of their TV time reading about subjects of interest? How much more knowledge would you have? Imagine how this would increase the amount of knowledge that you have to write bum marketing articles about?

Bum marketing is able to increase the advertising of your website by sharing related information with your target audience. Using bum marketing to draw a large crowd requires producing multiple content. Bum marketing is not academic writing. Web visitors want to be able to quickly find the desired content; they do not care if your post secondary instructor would have given you an “A” or a “D”. You are not writing a book. Bum markeitng articles only need to be at least 400 words. Remember pointers you have learned and you will be producing content faster then you believed possible.

Reasons Why Having a Reliable Web Hosting Is So Important

November 10th, 2009

It is not as easy as you might think to find reliable web hosts. Resellers all promise 99% uptime and there are a number of web hosts competing for customers. The most important thing about a website is to have reliable web hosting. The regularity at which previous customers come back can be determined by it.

The ultra-clever search engines today will impact a sites rating, a low rating will send customers looking for good service elsewhere.

Why is reliable web hosting a requirement? I immediately thought of your peace as a factor. Think of being ready to update your website and not being able to because the server isn’t working. Customers expect good service and will not return to a website that does not offer it. Obstacles have to be dealt with as soon they have been identified, to avoid repeating the same mistakes which cause companies to fail.

When is it critical to have one? It’s important anyway, very important unless you have a website you aren’t too concerned about people seeing. Today’s new search engine methods mean that reports are made each time a URL is inaccessible and this can lead to a drop in search engine rankings after so long.

Running a business through your website though makes it critical to have a reliable webhost. You need at least 99 % uptime, this may seem excessive to you, but in today’s modern technology it is perfectly possible to find web hosting businesses that can manage and in some cases even exceed this percentage.

If your webhost has slow service then the chances of getting traffic to your site would be real low. This is affecting your earning ability, thus losing you potential revenue. If you hire someone is to try and help your business, not to help you lose money like the webhost

How do I know if my webhost is reliable? You don’t, not at first. There are ways though that you can use to find out how likely they are to be reliable, or not. There are free tools now on the internet which help you monitor up and downtime, and these are becoming more and more popular in the race to be top of the search engines.

More and more people are realizing the importance of server uptime, and these tools can become an invaluable resource if your webhost isn’t communicating too well with you. If you are with a decent webhost then the likelihood is, you’ll either receive an email advising you of planned downtime, or there will be a portal on the webhosts website advising of any problems. Webhosts who hide this sort of information do so for a reason, and that is because they’re frightened you’ll go elsewhere.

Do you need a dedicated server? Alojate.com is the best web hosting company in Mexico, offering a range of solutions for every business needs. Servidores dedicados, factura electronica, web hosting & registro de dominios.

Process of web design at Denver Web Design Firms

October 29th, 2009

The design of a website plays a very important role in deciding the rank of the website. A well designed website with all the necessary elements will generate more effective traffic. This means that traffic will increase and ranking along with it. Design of a website is not an easy task and includes many steps to ensure a good site. There are many steps that need to be taken and reviewed as they become completed. This will make sure that errors found can be easily resolved and the site be effective.

Denver Web Design Companies should only start a design after doing the proper research. This research will make sure for fresh content and knowing what the client wants and what the competition has, not to mention what the target audience is looking for.

The Denver web designer then starts the designing process. For this a rough draft is first prepared and then discussed with the client. If the client is satisfied with the draft, the designer is allowed to proceed with the development of the website. If however the client does not approve of the website draft, the designer has to restart the process.

Once this rough draft has been approved by the client the firm decides the best content for the website itself. This content is very important had has to do with the target audience and what they want. For example if the target audience is college students the information on the site should be informative. The designer should be able to generate a site for many audiences such as education settings, entertainment, personal and business use. Not only the content but the elements that make up the website should also be looked at during this time.

The Denver web designer decides about the various images, video spokesperson and multimedia files that need to be incorporated in the website. The designers also have to decide about the positioning of these elements.

Once the content and the elements have been chosen, the web design firm needs to decide about the site itself, number of pages and navigation to and from pages within the website as a whole. Navigation through the website is key, the easier a user can get through the site the more they will like it.

It is important that the designer is on top of the accessibility options having to do with the website, this will ensure that all users will be able to access the website.

So when you have gotten this far make sure that the designer tests the website. Testing is a very key factor and ensures that any bugs or errors are fixed and the site is running smoothly. The designer should also maintain the site and manage updates.
